Did I miss a jump from nav class to div ID?

I'm currently working my way through:

Websites > Build a Responsive Website > Adaptive Design > Implementing Media Queries

I couldn't for the life of me understand why, once I'd manually typed out the media query for the nav at 3:30 on http://teamtreehouse.com/library/websites/build-a-responsive-website/adaptive-design/implementing-media-queries, the navigation wouldn't change to match that of the demo on show.

After some digging, I realised that as I was using the HTML & CSS from the first 'island' and that this hadn't yet been declared as the div id 'nav'. I'd only given this a class of .nav.

Have I missed this change somewhere along the line, or were we just expected to realise this change ourselves?

Hi Jordan, For the Responsive Website part, you need to download the project files to the right of the video. There was some small design changes (like the red button around contact us).

Then you can use these files and keep up to date with the materials. Hope this Helps, Joseph Hall

Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the reply.

Is this something I should do before starting work on each new stage? I presumed I would just be carrying on with the files I had produced in the first stage.

Thanks again, Jordan

Hi Jordan, I dont think you need to download them for every stage if you follow along. I think before you start a new project, it is a good idea, because they may have updated something.
