Did my ability to view Workshops change on the $25/month plan?

I know I was able to view the Build a One-Page WordPress Page Workshop last month. I went back to view it now and it says I need to upgrade my membership.

Is this a bug? I can't imagine I'd have video access revoked, especially after being a paying member for months - that would be a little disturbing. Please let me know! Doing that Workshop was my ideal Sunday..

Man I can't believe this, looks like all Workshops are blocked to me now. That really sucks, taking away access to something I've had for 5+ months. I've referred multiple people to Treehouse. My account may only show one, but I know at least three friends have tried it because of me.

I will definitely be unsubscribing. For that fee, I'm much better off paying on sites that offer Verified Certificates from prestigious Universities (Coursera), websites that offer courses straight from top-tier tech companies (Udacity), or Treehouse rivals that now offer more bang for you buck (Code School).

I implore anyone who reads this to explore those alternate options before EVER spending $50/month on Treehouse. This is crazy. At $25/month Treehouse was a great complement to Coursera and Udacity. At $50/month it's attempting to become a substitute, and I think that's where Treehouse falls flat.

And was I ever warned of account changes?

While I don't necessarily agree with the policy, the pricing plans are pretty well laid out and it's obvious that workshops are the premium option (something has to set them apart). Good luck finding anything WordPress related at Coursera, Udacity or Code School. They aren't target at your sort of learning.

Treehouse does offer some great courses on WordPress, more than enough to do just about anything you need if you apply the learning correctly. Also since you mention certification, workshops don't have point scores, badges or quizzes/tasks.

I think you're missing the point. I'm fine with the separation, but there was no separation for the last five months. All of which I've been a paying member. I can't find anything where I was made aware of the changes. I know for a fact I made it more than 30 seconds into the WordPress Workshop last month. Now all I have is a 30 second preview. A bit frustrating.

Also, if WordPress courses are the only thing setting them apart from their competitors, that speaks volumes. There are plenty of good, free WP tutorials on the web. That alone does not justify $50/month. After just browsing the Code School library, I can't say I'm in a hurry to come back here (other than to get a response on this recent content removal in an attempt to get more cash from it's existing subscriber base).
