django.core.urlresolvers.NoReverseMatch: Error when I change 'layout' template

Why is it that within my once I change my template {% extends " layout.html"%} To a more local template {% extends "courses/layout.html"%}. I get an error that pertains to my course id <a href="{% url 'courses:detail' pk=course_pk%}">
