Do embedded videos subtitles boost SEO?

Hey all.

If the video is embedded from YouTube, does the subtitle/transcript from there, help with the pages SEO? (I understand you are importing content from another site, but still thought I'd ask)

It helps if you embed the video with meta-tags.

When Google scouts your website, it will look at things like headings and meta-tags for key words to rate your website quality score with.

Hey Deron.

As far as I am aware, I thought that search engines only really used those as descriptions and titles of the results. Since Project Panda, it is more based around the user experience.

This is why I'm more concerned about the accessibility of the subtitle/transcript file and if that has an effect on the SEO.

Any deeper insights, man? :)

EDIT: I understand that this leads to a deeper conversation of 'is the content any good' and 'there are over 300 different variables that Search engines algorithms rank you on', but for arguments sake, lets pretend that that is not an issue :)
