Do I need a Mac to build and test IOS apps or websites?

I want to learn how to build IOS apps and wanted to know, do I need to go and purchase an apple product to do this?

Hello :

Well, if your goal is to create an application for the iOS system then yes, because you would have to work with Xcode which is an apple product to be able to build applications for them. Therefore you would need a MAC computer to run Xcode.

Hope that solves your question :)

Thanks Jhoan!.. I will get a Mac pro 15.4-inch next week.

No problem, good luck in your new project. I recommend using teamtreehouse for your guidance and studying.

You will need the following skills:

  • Learn Swift or Objective-C languages. ( I recommend swift ) / You can follow a complete track
  • Learn about designing an application
  • Learn how to use Xcode
  • Lots of patience

All but the last one are taught in this website.

let me know if you have more questions.

Good luck
