Do I need to install Treehouse VM if I already installed ruby on my computer? If not why would I use one vs the other?

In the "Installing Ruby Dev Environment" I installed Ruby. Do I also need to install the treehouse VM?

Hey Garrett,

As far as I know, if you are going to be using your own install of Ruby, then you don't need the Treehouse VM.

I've done most of the Ruby courses and haven't use the VM. The only issue I've notice as of late is that the courses are a bit aged and using the current version of Ruby does throw some complications in following along. Other than that, you should be okay without it.
