Do I need to know illustrator to take the SVG Basics course?

I am interesting in the SVG course here at treehouse, but my illustrator skills suck.Treehouse recommends me to take the illustrator foundation course. I just want to learn how to code not do photoshop or illustrator stuff. What do you suggest I do? Thanks all feedbacks are welcome

You'll probably be just fine as long as you understand how an SVG is different than a picture image.
