Do i need to use parse from the beginning?

You are required to have Parse for the whole course. If you don't, a lot of your app will not work. Unless you can create the back-end yourself.

If you are having trouble getting it started or running. Feel free to open another question and I will post how to setup Parse, and fixing the common errors.

edit : just see that you are at the start of track and new to Tree House just wait till you get start that lesson dont go ahead but install genymotion its really must have have thing

I suggest you go with parse its a good tool to learn and its free for the point you get 30 requests per second ( which is a good mile stone ) but have to say if you building your own app (out of course) give some time and learn their system or you will get crazy when you see how easy some of their methods.

I would also like to add, parse systems are all accessible information from iOS/Android, Web/Application :)
