do u have to have a mac in order to do this track? i have a pc. what are my options?

i want to build apps for ios. i have an ipad2 and iphone 5, but a pc (toshiba). what are my options?

Yes, you definitely want to have a Mac to develop apps with Xcode for iOS devices as Xcode only runs on Mac OS X.

Maybe an used and very cheap Apple Mac mini is something for you to test this out as you can still use your other hardware like keyboard, mouse, monitor...

There's also the possibility to install Mac OS X on a virtual machine on your PC using a program like Virtual Box or VMWare.
