42,016 PointsXcode is only available on OS X, so unfortunately you cant install it on your iPad. You need a computer running OS X. The computer does not have to be a Mac per se (buying a mac is a great option, but its certainly not a very affordable one). Note that it is against Apples TOS to run OS X on non apple hardware, but it is possible through a VM, hackintosh etc.

26,676 PointsI've attempted building an hackintosh this year and they can be a pain to get working as the most common problem you can have is with your graphics card causing kernel panics, this was just a test project as I already own a 2011 MacBook Pro so it really didn't benefit me apart from having a greater amount of power hardware wise.
In the end I put Windows back in and continued on my way.
