1,392 PointsDo you/will you cover creating a chat function to put on a website?
Hi there! First of all I am LOVING the content here at Treehouse. Excellently done! I am a software trainer and database consultant, and am interested in creating a business webpage for myself where if one of my clients has a technical question, they can chat with me right from my page. I'm currently on at the CSS class level, so I'm not sure if this is covered in future courses. If not, could you maybe direct me to some resources where I can learn how to do this? What I mean by the chat function is something similar to say... Dell's website. Where you can choose to "Speak to a representative now", and it opens up a chat window. I think it would be quite helpful to my clients, and need to know how it's done. Thanks, and keep up the great work here! As a trainer, I can totally appreciate all the very hard work you all are putting into this!! ~Lisa Blue

Treehouse is a great resource, and you will definitely learn a lot that will help you build cool applications like a web chat. However, I do not recall it having a course that will directly teach you how to build one. With that said, I've found a few great YouTube tutorial series.
Codecourse: Real Time Chat (using nodeJS) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QISU14OrRbI
codeetastic: How to make a Chat System https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwcXhCAYE-o
Nerd's Best Advice: Make Your Very Own Chat Program https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFmlXFNp-Eo
I hope these resources help!
Cheers.
