HTML

<!DOCTYPE html> isn't used

He doesn't have a <!DOCTYPE html> tag (Ok, fine, it's not technically a tag, but don't get too specific) at the beginning of his html. He doesn't even have one anywhere!

this is not neccesary anymore, it is used now for older browsers to recognize that the code is HTML and in his case he can view the site because he has an up to date browser. Hope this helps, just ask me if you need another answer or more in details

Oh, thanks!
