Does a no-coding child theme, such as Dynamik Website Builder, slow down a site or add code bloat?

I'm a novice coder, so a Genesis child theme that allows me to customize my website without touching any code would be extremely beneficial. However, can all of those back-end options be detrimental to the performance or functionality of the site?
