16,020 PointsDoes anyone know if it is necessary to take IOS-objective C or if just swift is ok?
I saw the Swift course and I wasn't sure if it is still necessary to learn objective C

2,706 PointsIf you want a job, learn objective-c first, if you want to make your own app or just learning as a hobby then learn swift. Majority of apps out there are written in obj-c and those companies need people who can understand objective-c and add features to the app.
Just learn swift and then learn objective-c if you have never programmed before.

16,020 PointsThis is perfect. Thanks man! I wasn't sure if swift was a new programming language that replaces objective-c.
I'm new to programming.

Both languages are in use, not a replacement for objective-c but maybe 5 or 10 years from now...
