Does this mean the XMLHttpRequest method/AJAX video series is obsolete?

Are the videos/processes in the AJAX basics course outdated now that we can use the Fetch API?

Mostly yes. But it may be helpful to be able to understand legacy code or know what’s happening under the hood.
