Ruby Build a Simple Ruby on Rails Application Getting Started with Rails Installing Rails (Mac)

Double Rails install

I am going back thorugh the beginning of the Build a simple Rails app which I started a while ago and I have found that I do not have rails installed but I do have jewlery box and ruby installed. Will installing the rails installer again effect these or just add rails?

I wouldn't use the rails installer. I would look at using this:

http://teamtreehouse.com/library/installing-a-ruby-development-environment

You can then have different versions of rails on different projects. I have rails 4 and rails 3.2.13 running on 2 different projects.
