Drag & Drop does not work

I can't use drag & drop to change the order of the pictures in my gallery. Does anyone know what might be wrong?

Hi Romy,

Are you doing this within the page/post or in the media popup as you will need to do this within the Edit Gallery section?

Thanks

Hey Rich,

I did this in the page-> add media-> gallery section described in the video. Everything works fine regarding the pictures in the gallery, I can also delete pictures or reverse the order, it's just the drag & drop function that does not work. When I click on "Text" I can change the order manually though by changing the order of the picture numbers.

Hi Romy,

Very odd. Sounds like you're doing everything fine but just to make sure I haven't misunderstood anything this is the process I take:

  • Click on Pages
  • Edit my page
  • Click Add Media
  • Click Create Gallery
  • I chose 3 photos to test
  • I clicked Create Gallery

I have no reached the Edit Gallery page and have the option to drag and drop to reorder images, reverse the order, enter a caption. This is where I assume you're having the issue.

Do you have any additional plugins installed as it may be a conflicting plugin (possibly jQuery)? If so, try disabling all of these and adding them back one by one to identify which one could be causing the issue.

Thanks

-Rich

Also. What version of WordPress are you using? Should say in the footer of the admin area.

Rich, that's correct, I performed exactly the same steps. I disabled all plugins, still doesn't work (jQuery wasn't one of them btw). I even tried to change the theme, that did not change anything either.

Zac, I am using WordPress 4.0.

Check and make sure your browser is up to date. I also suggest changing browsers. If it works in another browser, then something is being blocked.
