Dynamic Styling

Is there a recommended place to get more information about how to dynamically size UILabels and table cells? I keep trying different StackOverflow answers but none of them see to be working.

The problem I'm having is that we had to declare the label text within the scope of another method and every time I try to declare them as reference outlets, the build fails so this solution doesn't work unless i can somehow embed it in the cellForRowAtIndexPath method or fix the label issue. Any suggestions?
