Easiest way to get .pngs for animation?

Hey Guys,

Title says it all. What is the best/easiest way to make your own animation files like Ben's co-worker did for the crystal ball anymation?

To my knowledge there is no easy way to make custom animation images easily. This is a great question though, I wonder if there are any cool tools out there that I am not aware of. Checkout this link for some non-custom options: http://mashable.com/2010/10/27/create-animations-online/
