Editing Page Source Ruby on Rails "Interactivity"

I am using Windows for the Ruby on Rails Project. The last part of Front End Development in "Interactivity". I know CSS well. I realize a class has to be created for status.hover. so the the edit and delete show on hover. I am not sure how to edit that main page directly in Firefox the way it is done in the video use the developer tools. Otherwise I am OK. Is there some work around or does someone know how to do that one edit so the CSS will work? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

He only does this to show you what the javascript will do. Anything you do to the page inside the browsers developer mode wont actually change the site. Just keep going through the video.
