Emulator fails to load?

I'm running Eclipse on Mac.

I open the Android Virtual Device Manager, select a device, then "Start." This opens a new window, as expected. Then I hit "Launch." This should launch the emulator in a new window as shown in the video. Instead, the progress bar moves to completion but no new window is created.

Any solutions? This is a great tutorial -- I hope to be able to continue it.
