Emulator will not run - Error Emulator-arm.exe has stopped working.

When I try to run the sample Fun Facts app and select the emulator set up in the example, the emulator starts then I get the error "Emulator-arm.exe has stopped working" and the emulator closes. How do I resolve this so the emulator will run?

Walter,

Sorry to here that you are having issues with the AVD manager. Unfortunately, there can be several reasons why you are getting the error depending on drivers, screen resolution settings, etc. I will provide you with some links to previous posts here on treehouse as well as other sources on the issue that can hopefully help you resolve the issue.

I agree with Ben about switching to Genymotion. I have never looked back. However, if you do not want a 3rd party emulator and the solutions in this first post did not help resolve the issue, then check out the following:

There are many more on stack overflow as well.

Please post back and let us know if any of these helps to resolve your issue.

Regards,

Chris
