Eraser acts like a brush

Hello :)

So every time I use the eraser tool to erase something instead of just erasing it, the eraser tool acts like a brush:

what is the question/problem relating to this?

How do I fix the problem, so my eraser acts like an eraser :)?

Maybe the path wasn't selected before erasing it. It must be selected otherwise it not only erases the path, but also makes a hole into the visor of the helmet.

To those who have similar problem. How did I solve the problem? Simply by deleting my old project file and creating a new one from scratch :)

Have you tried using the shortcut Shift + E to select the eraser tool?

Yep, but I still get the same result unfortunately :)
