ERB - binding (examples from the video)

<p>Can anyone go into more details on this? Why is a method called get_binding which returns binding necessary? In the first example, erb.result displays what is needed. In the bank account example, the result method is called with an extra parameter (get_binding).</p>

<p>Instead, can we not do the following?</p>

def display
    puts ERB.new(TEMPLATE).result
end

<p>Then do: account.display</p>

<p>Why is get_binding necessary?</p>
