error Devise::Registrations#new

I'm trying to load the sign_up page for Treebook after running rake db:migrate but now I'm stuck on this error. It says: undefined method `first_name' for #<User:0x4f8a0c8>

     <div>
     <%= f.label :first_name %><br />
     <%= f.text_field :first_name %>
     </div>

Anyone else had this problem? Is that method supposed to be defined in the migration file?
