Error With Javascript Deep Dive

Hello.

I am unable to get past a task, and I'm not sure why.

The task is as such: A variable named "boxWidth" already exists with a value of "640px". Create a new variable named "numWidth" and use the "parseInt" method to extract the numeric value from boxWidth's string value.

The code I am writing is such: var numWidth = parseInt("640px", 10);

Please let me know what the error is, thank you.

That code challenge is trying to get you to parse the numeric value out if the boxWidth variable. But you are trying to parse it out of a string literal. Instead try this format:

var targetVariable = parseInt(sourceVariable, 10);

I tried that and it didn't work.

I tried that and it didn't work.

Solution is, var numWidth = parseInt(boxWidth, 10);

yayay it worked!!!

Thank you Russ

Alright that worked, thank you!

I just learned to not use comments in the code challenges, unless asked to. My brain was about to explode, then I removed a comment I place there, then it worked. lol

Thx, Russ.

That worked!!!! Yayyay
