EventEmitter / Node.js Events

The lessons in Build a Simple Dynamic Site with Node.js are challenging - and a great introduction to Node.js. However, the final project contains EventEmitter implementations that seem important [profile.js].

I don't recall any discussion about EventEmitter in the videos, although information is easy enough to find on Node.js documentation.

If I'm missing something can you point me in the right direction? Otherwise, I would recommend more discussion about it during the corresponding project.
