Exact same code behaving differently in atom. When I use atom the banner adheres to the container rule below

When I use atom the banner adheres to the container rule below but on this site, It doesn't. Just curious as to why?

    width: 90%;
    margin: 0 auto;

try using (pixel) for the width. width: 90px;
