Why do you not explain that it is required to delete the html from the index.php page before you paste the <?php include("inc/footer.php"); ?>

I listened to the video and looked at the video. She said, "Let's move the shared code from index.php to footer.php.". This infers that you would perform the equivalent of a 'cut' and 'paste' operation, depending on your development environment.

Yes, also at the first just copy-paste. But then saw that she cut-paste her code. So all is right.
