Hi Joshua,

No, they are available for anyone to do on their own. I mean you could ask for help with them in the forums but you don't get any points or badges for completing them.

They used to only appear in the Teacher's Notes section below the videos but now I see them listed with the other steps in each stage on the main project pages. You can't click on them though. Not sure if the descriptions there are as complete as what's listed below the videos so you may want to check the notes for the videos if you want to do any of them.
