Failed to download treehouse-rails4, nothing similar in forums

Hello, I did everything in the video, set up vagrant virtual box and cmder. When I typed in "vagrant up" into cmder, it got to about 16%, and froze for a very long time, at 0/second. After it said an estimate of 100 hours to download, this error message popped up.

An error occurred while downloading the remote file. The error message, if any, is reproduced below. Please fix this error and try again.

After the download failed, i tried downloading the box file manually at vm.teamtreehouse.com and it said the file was completely downloaded, however this was incorrect, because when it started it said 1.2gb and the completed file was less than 10mb. I do not understand where I made the error, and why I am simply unable to download the file. I tried uninstalling and re-installing every program, with the same issue. It should be noted that before this, I tried to install RoR on my computer and failed. I still have git and a few other programs from the installation video, but I didn't think that would be the cause of the problem.

If anyone else has encountered this problem or knows a possible solution, please help. I've searched the forums and found nothing similar. I am running windows 8.

No problem :) Not that memory. The working/processing memory. Glad it's all good to go now though!

On my computer the problem was initially memory. I was on a windows computer.

Try that first. Check your internet connection. Sometimes my choppy internet interrupts gems and stuff.

I have 619 gb free so that's definitely not the problem. I finally installed ruby though so am in no need of the vm. Thank you for the suggestion though! summerspirit
