fatal error: unexpectedly found nil while unwrapping an Optional Value... In debug.. I see that buttonPressedLabel = Nil

I get this error..

In Debug area..

I also see that buttonPressedLabel = (UILabel)nil

The problem is that you are trying to set a value from an optional equal to nil. You need to use the if...let statement to unwrap your optional:

if optionalVariable != nil{
}

//or

if let someVariable = optional.variable {
    println(" the value of someVariable is: \(someVariable)");
}
