General Discussion

Finally got my blog sorted.

Anyone got any topics they want a blog about? I need to get it padded out little and not just my pointless ramblings :)

Also leave feedback on the design :)

I love the worst portfolio post; it's so true but I think it could be longer, I can't think of more points off the top of my head but a little more text before and after would help I think; I'm not telling you how to write though as you never asked for this critique but that was just my thoughts and I think you'll appreciate the feedback.

I like the design, the white border works well too though it may look better in the yellow you've chosen, I think you have plenty of white in the text already.

I do love your main site though but I don't think the header image works well again with the yellow, this is just my opinion though and I'm not trying to bring anything down; you've done a great job and should be proud, you'll no doubt do well in this business and I wish you the best of luck!

Exactly what im looking for. I like feedback. Yes the site is my baby but I also want it to grow. Ill experiment with some ideas :)

Yeah my writing isnt the best. Its something I need to practice with but thanks :D

No personal/portfolio site is ever complete, to call it complete would be to call it a failure - it works well and delivers the message it is supposed to clearly, it's better than 90% of portfolio sites I have seen (and I've seen alot). Experimentation is the best, be sure to continue to post and seek critique, which I'm sure you will, but also stick by your guns too - maybe the yellow border isn't you for example and your personal or portfolio site should reflect only that quality; not what people think would look better.

Writing takes time to master (if that's even possible) and you'll find your feet eventually, when blogging I think you should continue to write about what comes to mind and you'll find yourself fall into a niche; if you write about what you enjoy and have a passion with, you'll write with passion and that'll be a million times better than writing about something someone on here requests - which may end up feeling like a mundane task if you're asked to blog about your thoughts on travelling in India (an experience you might not have actually had). If it's about a niche plenty of people are interested in and you continue to write on that level of passion, your fans will find you eventually - blogs take time though.

Don't forget there are PLENTY of literature on this field too, not just blogs but writing - a lot of points from books on writing are transferable to blogs but just remember to filter the misinformation some of these sources give.

I'll be keeping an eye on how things shape for you though :)

Good feedback

And yeah it's wasn't just requests it was topics to choose from. If I blog myself it will be about how much I've eaten today and why rain is annoying me. Nothing too interesting. Give me a topic I know a bit on and it will most likely be better reading :)

Great comment though. Thanks for be help

Good to see you took my feedback about the arbitrary β€œskills chart”! Keep on keeping up!

Yeah it still needs some padding there and not sure what to do but looks a lot cleaner that way thanks

Also see the blog I put. It explains about them lol :p hence my decision to switch

Good one! I can always offer advice on design. When it comes to code though, I'm way off the mark hence why I'm on this fab site!

I'm slowly getting there with both :)
