13,182 PointsSometimes you have to make them say yes. Just be professional and follow up. Make sure people know that your time is worth money through your confidence in following up. If they don't give you a hard yes, move on and look for someone who will give you a yes.
There are tons of jobs out there. If you want to freelance there are a multitude of websites you can sign up for where you can get contract work as a ruby developer. Those positions will most likely help you find a more permanent position. A lot of companies now a days are looking for developers with more than education. Freelancing is a good place to start if no one is willing to hire you full time.
