Where did you download XAMPP? I've used XAMPP on multiple machines for 2 years now, and have never experienced that. It sounds like you may have gotten some sort of malware that is doing this.

I agree. I have Xampp on Linux and Windows 7 and not had that type of problem. Both were downloaded in the past 2-3 months.
