Font import not working in outlook? falls back to new Times Roman

I have been creating a email template and when i do a test send and view it in outlook for the desktop and web the font falls back to new times roman even though i have a font import which is open sans from google fonts its wrapped in the style tag and Open Sans i have referenced it ever where it is being used. I have set it on the body selector and inline any suggestions would be helpful.

I've been working a lot of HTML emails lately, so that's an interesting question. I've found this article which might give you a solution.

Check the comments as well, apprently this can be fixed using a media query or a conditional style for outlook.
