You may need to refresh the project in order for it to notice the photos were there. This happens to me a lot with Pycharm.

Hello,

When you first create a project in Android Studio, the dpi based folders are not created automatically. You can create them manually and they should then show up.

Okay i know this may sound stupid but how do i create them. Im a little lost as to how

You can either add them using your system's file manager or from within Android Studio you can go to project view and right click on the res folder and select New, Android Resource Directory(or in this case just a regular directory might work easier).

thanks a lot James I will give it a shot and let you know tomorrow how it turned out

Hi James Simshaw, would you mine team viewing my computer to help me with the issue later today?

Hello,

Sorry, but I don't have team viewing capabilities right now. Maybe this stackoverflow post or this stackoverflow post will help.

Are you seeing the mipmap folders under res? because of the version of Android Studio I have my folder is not called drawable, it is mipmap-hopi, mipmap-mdpi, etc ...

if you see them drag your files in those folders and you'll be able to access your images by R.id.mipmap.

mipmaps are for icon use only. just create drawable directories.

Ahh, good to know, thank you. Time to re-organize my apk :)
