foreign accents such as é à è ë, etc.

Hi !

in my name, Raphaël , i have those two dots on the e. When i did the exercise, in the preview, i got this : Raphaël I have seen this phenomenon on internet before when reading french texts. What is the solution to getting the normal accents?

It's unicode. You would have to update your servers to have unicode options available. Programming was invented by us americans. LOLs.
