Format names for the_time function

Why use F j instead of M d for <?php the_time('F j, Y'); ?>?

Why use F j instead of M d for

Hi Chuong,

M is used for the shortened month, e.g. Jan instead of January.

d is used for the numeric day of the month, e.g. 01 instead of 1st.
