Forum feature request

1) The ability to pin/sticky threads would be cool

2) Categories like on traditional forums, just to bring more order and structure to the forum?

Just a few ideas, otherwise it's a great start away from Facebook! :-)

Oooh if I can jump on this as well I do like the ability to ask questions poll type things - although love the forum anyway it was just a nice to have / mention.

This was one of the first threads created! :-) Check out the list here: http://teamtreehouse.com/forum/features-request

Hopefully we can implement sticky threads so we can put the "Feature Request" one at the top. ;-)

  • +1 for sticky threads
  • +1 for categories
    • so we can have a category for
      • HTML/CSS
      • PHP/Wordpress
      • Ruby on Rails
      • iOS/Android

I think it would be important to separate technical support (e.g. 'why doesn't my code work') from discussion-type threads.

An ability to reply to individual posts would also be nice.

The Codecademy forum has both of these features and it works well.

I agree with @charles, the separation of tech support issues is a great idea, we could then add a 'marked answered' feature.

Hi guys,

We're planning on using tags only and we'll keep the important ones (iOS, Ruby on Rails, PHP, Android, etc) on the top as 'Popular'

Regarding Stackoverflow type features, a simple version is planned for release in Q1 2013.

Thanks for already participating so heavily in this first iteration of the Forum!
