Framework Basics

I have to say, while all the tutorials on Treehouse are worth the subscription many times over, I thought the Framework Basics was worth the price of an annual subscription all on its own.

A very good tutorial, i especially liked the way both Bootstrap and Foundation were used to build the exact same site, it gave a true comparison. Well done Guil and all those involved.

Foundation did come across as the preferred choice for me, mainly due to it using a more human friendly code if that makes sense i.e.

large-4 columns, show-for-small and hide-for medium etc.

Saying that, when i was watching the part about Bootstrap I was sure that was going to be my choice :)

I'm planning on watching the tutorial again and reading through the documentation before making a decision for my website.

I would like to know peoples thoughts on the lack of older ie browser support with Foundations and how big an issue it would likely be.

Thanks all

Hi Wayne Priestley,

Thanks so much for your feedback. I'm happy to hear that you enjoyed the course. Stay tuned for a new stage coming out really soon on Foundation 5! We're working on it now – can't wait to get it out to our students! :)

Wayne,

That's really very nice for you to take the time to say such awesome and supportive things about the content. I did most of the video content with Guil and it was just simply awesome to do this. I knew it would be a hit when I was editing this as it was so well throughout and so easy to follow, even for this video guy! It made me understand how a framework could work, and how it's not this mystical and hard thing to grasp. Just takes earnest practice and patience. We have some really great new content coming out this new year and it really is great that you took the time to say this to Guil. He needs to hear how awesome he is from time to time! Keep up the great work and we hope to continue the great content!

Yep, this is really fantastic work - it is the kind of tutorial that makes people stay with Treehouse livelong - even if they've got already learned all the basics. In my case I saw the "Framework Basics" Tutorial in the Future Roadmap and subscribed to Treehouse - and I already have much more than merely a basic knowledge in Web Technologies :-) (well that and the iOS/Android Tutorials with Parse made the decision very easy for me... )

Been looking forward to this and Sass for a long time. Thank you for everything. Great Job!

Ditto that. These foundations (through these courses!) make web design accessible.
