Game Dev Community

Is there a game development community forum here? I understand that the forum is a place to ask and receive info and answers to questions about issues with the course work. I would like to know if there is a forum that goes beyond just that and discusses design, coding, brainstorming, implementation, best practices etc as it relates to games and game development.
