Genesis theme

Hello guys, I need to start a bookstore using WP, I'm going to use Woocommerce to collect the money (shopping cart) and my question is, should I get Genesis and one of the themes provided by studio press in order to start this specific online store ? Or just go with a theme that provides a basic format and just fill the Blank space? I'm asking this because I don't know if Genesis lets you create a static page and blog for post.
