Gesture Recognisers

I would like to add some gesture recognisers similar to the ones in the app mailbox or lasso. How would I go about doing this? Thanks

    //Add this method to -viewDidLoad
- (void)addTapGesture{
        UITapGestureRecognizer *touchedBackground = [[UITapGestureRecognizer alloc]initWithTarget:self
                                                                                        action:@selector(hideKeyboard)];
        [touchedBackground setNumberOfTapsRequired:1];
        [self.view addGestureRecognizer:touchedBackground];
}

//Create the method for the touchedBackground selector
- (void)hideKeyboard{
    [self.view endEditing:YES];
}

This is just to hide the background, change the gestures to any gesture you want.
