Android Threads and Services Bound Services Binding to a Service

Getting error saying not binding in onStart or unbinding in onStop of which I am doing both

I am getting a "Bummer" saying what is in the title

MainActivity.java 
public class MainActivity extends Activity {
  int latitude;
  int longitude;
  boolean isBound = false;

      private ServiceConnection serviceConnection = new ServiceConnection() {
        @Override
        public void onServiceConnected(ComponentName name, IBinder service) {
            bound = true;
        }

        @Override
        public void onServiceDisconnected(ComponentName name) {
            bound = false;
        }
    };

  @Override
  public void onCreate(Bundle savedInstanceState) {
    setContentView(R.layout.activity_main);

    Button updateLocationButton = (Button) findViewById(R.id.update_button);
