Getting started with Cordova

I recently downloaded cordova and im trying to get started making apps with it and xcode. I have a website that i want to turn into an app so i put the code in and all its giving me in the simulator is the cordova splash page could some provide me with a good start tutorial on cordova and xcode or offer any advice
