So I live in San Francisco and I am currently a college student/Lyft driver. Everyday I meet people who are in the industry and I was wondering what are the proper tools and skills needed for a person with no real background in tech to do so?
I know being here on teamtreehouse.com is the best first step but what language should I really start with and what are the best ways to obtain a internship or etc. I would really love to be apart of this industry, I know it is a lot of hard work but I am up for it! Thank you!

I'm jealous you're in SF!
Since you regularly meet people in tech, you can ask them how they got started. Many (most?) people are willing to chat about their careers and answer questions, especially to bright, eager and polite college students :)
Online, you might want to check out reddit for subreddits focused on the programming languages/technologies you're most interested in. Also, podcasts like CodeNewbie and thoughbot's Giant Robots provide different perspectives to breaking into programming (if that's your interest).
