Git HUb

I do not know what change made to my computer, When I am trying to push my netbeans projects to Git Hub, it says "org.eclipse.jgit.errors.LockFailedException: Cannot lock /Users/Abinet/.git/index." Can someone help me please? Even I started to watch the Basics of Git Hub., I got stuck on problem #5 and I can't move forward. It has been Annoying hours for me.....
