CSS

Giving text color using concept of Combinators

I was trying to give black color to text using '~' Combinator, and marquee tag

Syntax:

<marquee> (with some javascript inside marquee for hover effect)
<p></p>
<p></p>
<p></p>
</marquee>
marquee ~ p
{
color: black;
}

Paragraphs are not picking black colors that are inside marquee.

You are confusing the general sibling selector with the descendant selector. Switch it out and you will be good to go.

Thanks for the reply but its still not working ,Patrick

Ahh sorry for that, wasn't thinking straught. I think the marquee HTML tag is not valid anymore. You need to use CSS animations to accomplish this. I think that is better.

Try marquee~p . So without spaces.
