Go to WWDC (worth the costs)?

I really, really, REALLY want to go to WWDC. I entered the lottery thinking there was no way I would ever be chosen. Got an email 8 minutes ago stating that I was selected to purchase a ticket. It would use up all my vacation days at work and cost a significant amount but it seems like it would be worth it just for the networking. Opinions? Sam Soffes, Amit Bijlani, Ben Jakuben is it worth the costs?

Coincidentally I was watching an iOS development video when the email came. Not important but a bit humorous.

If you've never been, I think it's worth going. Being around everyone else is great. The labs are super valuable. You can ask Apple engineers whatever questions. Definitely prepare some ahead of time to make the most of it.

You can watch all of the videos at home without going. The biggest reason to go is the labs and meeting everyone.

If you can afford it and haven't been, I think you should definitely go. Unfortunately, I didn't get a ticket. I'll definitely try to attend a lot of events that week though :)

For me the big sell is the networking. As an aspiring developer currently working in marketing I don't often find myself crossing paths with other developers. And with my art degree I'm definitely not taken seriously when applying for developer positions...

I forgot Treehouse staff are spread all over. Treehouse meetup in SFO the week of WWDC! :-)

I'd echo Sam's sentiments. It's worth going at least once. You get to network and experience the euphoria around the new technologies that they announce. For me the most important part was access to Apple engineers who are super helpful.

I didn't get a ticket either :(

With my company's new found focus on digital and much recent talk of apps, I'm trying to get my company to let me go without using vacation, even if I have to pay for the whole trip myself. I'm gonna cry if they won't do that and deny my vacation time.

Sorry to hear you didn't get a ticket. AltWWDC?
